OUTFIT AND DUTIES OF THE GROOMSMEN
WHAT ARE GROOMSMEN?
Groomsmen are the groom's best buddies. The male bridesmaids, so to speak. The guys who have been with him through thick and thin. The childhood friend, the long-time teammates from the handball team, the go-out-around-the-house clique. Much like the classic best man, they are chosen by the groom. In doing so, he kills two birds with one stone: He doesn't have to decide on one friend - unlike the best man - and might offend others with this decision, and he has his close buddies around him who can help him and certainly take some of the stress away.
WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF THE GROOMSMEN?
The groomsmen are there for the groom, but above all they are there for him during the wedding ceremony. And not just mentally.
The groomsmen’s duties before the wedding:
- The joint search for the right outfit. For both the groom and the groomsmen. That means a suit and matching accessories such as a bow tie, suspenders, pocket square and cufflinks.
- organization of the bachelor party
- Help with setting up the day before the wedding
The duties of the groomsmen during the wedding:
- Joint Getting Ready
- Relieve nervousness: Either by encouraging someone or by taking a strong drink from the hip flask you always carry with you
- Waiting for the bride at the altar with the groom during a church wedding
- Heat up the atmosphere: with a funny speech, a rehearsed production or with a ruckus and ruckus on the dance floor
WHICH OUTFIT SHOULD GROOMSMEN WEAR AT THE WEDDING?
The most important thing is that the groom should be the center of attention. And this also applies to the outfit. The groomsmen should therefore definitely coordinate with the groom in advance. The color of the suit and the color of the accessories should be clearly different from each other. For example, if the groom chooses a light blue bow tie and suspenders, the groomsmen should not choose their accessories in a similar shade of blue.
Other important points for the groomsmen outfit:
- Of course, it looks best when all the groomsmen are immediately recognizable as such. That is, when they wear the same outfit, from the suit to the shoes and accessories.
- If this is too complicated and expensive for you, you can also just stick to uniform accessories, for example. Maybe with the same bow ties, suspenders and pocket squares and then just a white shirt, light chinos and leather shoes.
- The groom often gives one of the accessories to his close friends when he asks them if they want to be part of his groomsmen crew. In this way, he sets the outfit style that his boys can perfectly follow.
With a uniform outfit, the groomsmen make a real style statement. When five men and five bridesmaids wear the same outfit, great wedding photos are guaranteed.
