GROOM OUTFIT IN BOHO LOOK
For several years now, more and more weddings have been taking place in the so-called boho style. And if you look around on Pinterest and Co., this trend doesn't seem to be over yet.
But what actually defines this style and what is important to you men and grooms if you have chosen the “Boho” theme for your wedding?
Your girls have probably already pinned a number of mood boards with inspiration on their virtual pin boards and have a clear idea of what their wedding dress should look like. But what about you guys? Do you already know how to put together your boho outfit for the big day? If you are still completely lost, we will try to give you a little help here.
WHAT IS BOHO?
First of all, briefly about the term “Boho”. Boho is the abbreviation for Bohéme, a subculture consisting primarily of writers and artists who tried to distance themselves from bourgeois views and behavior.
Translated to weddings and the corresponding motto, you could say: everything is a little more relaxed and casual and not so stiff and formal. So arrange the wedding the way you like it and don't feel forced to stick to certain rules.
THE SEASON
No matter what outfit, you can set the visual accents with the accessories. Whether with a bow tie, suspenders, pocket square, cufflinks or matching socks. Depending on the season, different colors are of course recommended. In late autumn/winter, darker, more muted tones. For example, burgundy red, forest green or dark blue. In summer a little more color is appropriate (mint, old pink, yellow, etc.).
THE MATERIAL CHOICE
This is also reflected in the materials. It's better to leave the bow ties, ties or suspenders made of silk, satin or polyester that you still have from your confirmation or prom in the closet. Rather, suits and accessories made of somewhat rougher materials are popular. In particular linen, cotton, viscose or, depending on the season, wool blends.
THE WEDDING SUIT
The suit is the basis of your outfit - whether plain or with a pattern. Muted, simple and no bright colors are particularly suitable here. And preferably something other than dark blue or black. A linen suit goes particularly well, especially in summer.
THE ACCESSORIES FOR THE GROOM IN BOHO STYLE
You can then set accents with the accessories. Here you men have the opportunity to show some color. If you have a general color theme for your wedding, which can be seen, for example, in the table decorations, in the bridal bouquet, etc., you can use these colors wonderfully in your accessories. No matter whether the color theme is eucalyptus, apricot, mint or old pink.
Suspenders in particular are a must-have for the Boho Groom Style. Best and most stylish for buttoning into trousers. And the leather parts of the suspenders should, if possible, match the color of your shoes. So brown to brown and black to black.
It's best to wear a bow tie around your neck. It has character and gives you a charming and less formal look. A pocket square can be perfectly combined with the bow tie. It may or may not be the same color as the fly. You should only avoid two different patterns or materials here.
And if you want to round off your outfit down to the last detail, you can also add cufflinks, shoelaces and socks in a color that matches your concept.
