Article: BOW TIE OR TIE?
BOW TIE OR TIE?
If you want to dress stylishly and formally as a man, you can't avoid these two accessories: bow tie and tie. But which of the two accessories suits which occasion? When should you wear what? In this blog article, the two ADAM BOWS founders want to help you make this decision.
WHAT YOU LIKE IS RIGHT
The bow tie is the classic ball accessory - perfect for events such as weddings, graduation balls, banquets, receptions and other festivities. The bow tie has become popular here in recent years and has largely replaced the tie. It can also be worn with a shirt and chinos for a casual party.
Only at parties where there is a strict dress code and you have to wear a tailcoat or tuxedo, for example, is bow tie absolutely compulsory. Ties are out of the question here.
Compared to a tie, a bow tie is much more casual and relaxed. It looks more playful and not as stiff. A bow tie is a character accessory, so to speak. Anyone who wears it shows that they don't take themselves too seriously.
That was also the reason why we initially started our start-up with only bow ties and pocket squares.
THE BUSINESS TYPE
However, we increasingly received numerous emails asking us whether we could also make ties from our predominantly linen fabrics.
Many were simply looking for a slightly different, more stylish tie for their business outfit than the usually wide ties made of shiny silk or polyester. Those who wear a suit at work usually resort to a tie. Unfortunately, bow tie wearers are still quite rare here. So at the beginning of 2021 we decided to include ties in our range. Especially for the fathers or grandfathers of the brides or grooms who cannot be persuaded to wear a bow tie, and who then fit perfectly with the wedding concept thanks to a tie in a similar style ;-)
