3 tips for the right accessories for your suit

Which colors combine well and which ones don't? What should you pay attention to? The important thing is that everyone wears the outfit that they feel most comfortable in. However, there are a few things that should still be taken into account.

Tip 1: The color of the suit

The color of accessories you choose depends primarily on the color of your suit, the bow tie, tie, suspenders, etc. you want to wear with. In most cases, we recommend slightly lighter accessories for a dark suit and slightly darker accessories for a light suit. The reason: This creates a nice contrast and the accessories are more eye-catching.

Here are some examples:
Natural-colored suit = dark brown accessories
Dark green suit = natural-colored accessories
Dark blue suit = light blue accessories

Another option is of course to choose accessories that are the same color as the suit. But then both colors should be very similar. Otherwise it will look like you wanted to match the color but in the end you didn't.

Tip 2: The occasion

The occasion for which you want to wear your accessories is also very important when choosing your accessories. For a summer wedding with an open-air party or in a barn, different accessories are naturally suitable than for a ball or a party in a casino. For a summer wedding, you can choose lighter, fresher colors for the bow tie, tie, pocket square or suspenders (mint green, old pink or any pastel shade). For an elegant evening event, you would prefer more muted and deeper colors (burgundy red, midnight blue or even black).
